BRAKE HOSES

Standard OE Replacement Brake Hoses

Znoelli replacement brake hoses are manufactured to the highest standards. Znoelli brake hoses are tested utilising SAE J1401 and FMVSS106 specified procedures including pressure hold, pressure burst (to destruction), constriction and whip tests. Our rubber replacement brake hose range is the largest in New Zealand and as a manufacturer we are able to develop custom applications such as longer hoses for use with 4WD lift kits.

PTFE Steel Braided Brake Hoses

Znoelli PTFE steel braided brake hoses are manufactured to the same exacting standards as rubber brake hoses. Znoelli PTFE steel braided brake hoses are tested utilising SAEJ1401 and FMVSS106 specified procedures including pressure hold, pressure burst (to destruction) and whip tests. What's the advantage of PTFE Steel Braided Brake Hoses? - Originally PTFE steel braided lines were supplied to the Aviation industry. Then, due to their outstanding performance they became extensively used in motorsport. The reason is that PTFE steel braided brake hoses provide extremely low expansion characteristics under pressurisation. A far better relationship between user input and the braking power applied occurs. This means you see an increase in performance from your vehicles braking system. The brake pedal will feel firmer, less effort is required to apply the appropriate braking pressure and of course they look fantastic as well as being functional. Construction - PTFE Braided lines are strong and durable. The line itself has a tensile strength of 3500 psi and the assemblies are tested to a minimum tensile load of 1.46 Kn (kilo-newtons). That's essentially hanging a 150kg weight off the end of the hose.

When replacing safety critical items on your vehicle, Znoelli brake hoses provide peace of mind motoring with guaranteed quality.

Frequent Questions

Why do Brake Hoses wear out? - Like most other components on your vehicle, age and use deteriorate brake hoses. Rubber, over time, perishes and cracks. Brake hoses get punished every day by road grime, water, stones and heat from the braking system. This is just on the outside. On the inside brake hoses are constantly subjected to high pressures from the application of the vehicles brakes and of course the hose is designed for this purpose. However after a period of time a brake hoses fabric re-inforcing starts to stretch and combined with rubber fatigue results in a poor performing hose, or worse, one that could potentially fail.

How do I know if my Brake Hoses are worn? - Brake hoses are checked for outward signs of wear and damage during your W.O.F., however this doesn't necessarily indicate the full story. Brake hoses can appear fine on the outside and still be performing poorly. As brake hoses wear gradually it is likely that the vehicle user won't notice this slow degredation and all will seem normal. It's not until the brake hoses are replaced that it becomes apparent that all was not normal.

How long do brake hoses generally last and is there a recommended replacement interval? - Brake hoses will wear according to many factors, however it is in our opinion that brake hoses deteriorate sufficiently over a six year period to warrant their replacement. If your vehicle is over five years old then it's time to replace the brake hoses.
