What's the advantage of PTFE Steel Braided Brake Hoses? - Originally PTFE steel braided lines were supplied to the Aviation industry. Then, due to their outstanding performance they became extensively used in motorsport. Brake hoses get punished every day by road grime, water, stones and heat from the braking system. This is just on the outside. On the inside brake hoses are constantly subjected to high pressures from the application of the vehicles brakes and of course the hose is designed for this purpose. However after a period of time a brake hoses fabric re-inforcing starts to stretch and combined with rubber fatigue results in a poor performing hose, or worse, one that could potentially fail.
